The pair escaped unharmed, but their vehicle was severely damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com\/news24\/community-newspaper\/city-vision\/samora-machel-police-arrest-suspect-in-high-speed-chase-involving-hijacked-vehicle-20240906\" target=\"_blank\">READ RELATED |&nbsp;Samora Machel police arrest suspect in high-speed chase involving hijacked vehicle<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samora Machel CPF spokesperson Xolani Joja said such incidents undermined the law and perpetrators deserve to rot in jail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is a shocking incident,\u201d he declared, \u201cand we want the law-enforcement agencies not to leave any stone unturned. By attacking law-enforcement officers one is attacking the state itself.\u201d Joja added that anyone found on the wrong side of the law must face the music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He expressed concern over people going away in December because it made convening community meetings difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince it\u2019s this time of the year, many people are going on holiday and making it difficult to hold meetings. He said Samora Machel officers were investigating a case of an attack on police. He said officers responded to a complaint on Friday 29 November, and on entering the informal settlement they came under fire and defended themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe vehicle was damaged as a result of gunshots, but the members escaped unharmed yet were traumatised.
