Samora Machel Community Policing Forum urged that the law to take its course against a man arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing a five-year-old child in the neck on Sunday 16 August at Vukuzenzele in Sweet Home, Samora Machel.
Samora Machel CPF calls for justice after child’s death
Samora Machel CPF spokesperson Xolani Joja condemned the incident, stating that the suspect deserves to be in jail.
Joja said the community is disturbed by the incident. He said he doesn’t have full details about the incident but stressed that it doesn’t warrant killing.

“We heard that the perpetrator is from Malawi. It was alleged that he had quarrelled with the mother of the child, who happened to be his girlfriend. We don’t know what led him to kill a child,” said Joja, adding that they want justice to prevail for the child.
Police confirm murder case, two persons of interest
Provincial police spokesperson Capt F.C. van Wyk said Samora Machel police registered a murder case following the discovery of the body of a five-year-old girl with a stab wound to the neck on Sunday 16 August at about 08:20 at Duinefontein Road, Samora Machel. He said two persons of interest, a male and a female, have been taken in for questioning. Investigations continue.
