The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) leader in Mfuleni is demanding that law enforcement leave no stone unturned in finding those responsible for the killing of a man whose body was found burnt inside his car on Tuesday 16 June.
Body discovered at Covid Informal Settlement
The leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal, said the incident occurred at Covid Informal Settlement in Mfuleni.
He urged anyone with information regarding the incident to report it to the nearest police station.
“The body of a man was found burnt inside a Polo sedan in Covid. We don’t know the motive behind the incident. The body was found at about 22:00,” he said.

When City Vision asked whether any community members had witnessed the car being set alight, the leader said it was impossible that no one had seen or heard anything.
People are scared to speak out
“I think people are scared to speak out. There is no way that they didn’t see it or hear a commotion. All we are appealing for is that people go to any police station and report it if they don’t trust Mfuleni officers,” he urged.
