The newly elected Khayelitsha Business Forum (KBF) leadership has vowed to transform the business fraternity to ensure that all the businesspeople in the area benefit.
The leadership was elected during a conference held at the Khayelitsha Training Centre on Sunday 8 December.
KBF chair Mkhululi Mbobosi vowed to work tirelessly to promote the economic development and growth of Khayelitsha.

He said they are committed to working with all the stakeholders in the area, including government entities, retail business and construction companies.
“We are committed to fostering collaboration, innovation and inclusivity ensuring that the interests of all stakeholders are represented. We are looking to work with everyone to create a brighter future for all. We believe that together we can achieve more,” said Mbobosi.
He said they want to forge unity among local businesses to develop Khayelitsha.
“We have two streams of business people in the forum, which are aspiring and well-known businesspeople. To prosper we need funds which is the main challenge to everyone and to comply as well. There are many businesses, but they don’t comply because they don’t have surety,” he stated.
Mbobosi ensures that there are no businesses that will be left behind including informal businesses. He said the new leadership will ensure that everything goes accordingly.
He said during their three-year tenure they will ensure they are accessible and transparent.

“There are three things that we need to master in our term, to make sure that our house is in order by cleaning everything. We make sure that all businesses are represented and empowered with what is necessary.
“Lastly, we ensure that we revisit or monitor our progress by making sure no one left behind,” he explained, adding that the KBF is a vehicle for all businesspeople in Khayelitsha.
Mbobosi appealed to the investors to come on board to develop the area. The new elected KBF executive members: Mkhululi Mbobosi (chair), Monde Foli (deputy chair), Thokozile Qalanto (secretary), Abonga Ngxaka (deputy secretary), Lehlohonolo Molale (Finace and Asset officer), Loyiso Mfuku (public relations officer).
