A special removal team of the Mangaung Metro is tackling illegal dumping, while in the process also cleaning street corners and open spaces in the city.
Qondile Khedama, spokesperson for the metro, said this is in line with creating a cleaner and greener Mangaung.
“The city is committed in ensuring that the environment is clean and healthy for all residents,” he stated.
He said the city called upon its residents not to litter in public spaces and to minimise waste in households, which will divert recyclable waste that is going to the landfill sites.
