Bloemfontein is set to host a major culinary event in April as the Free State branch of the South African Chefs Association presents InfoChef Free State 2026 at the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, in Bloemfontein.

This annual food event has become a staple on the culinary calendar, bringing together professionals, students, and food enthusiasts.

On Thursday 16 April the event will begin with a business breakfast, providing a platform for industry leaders to exchange ideas.

Afterward, chef competitions will unfold, featuring both seasoned professionals and aspiring student chefs.

The evening will offer a four-course fine dining experience, prepared by some of South Africa’s top culinary talent, under the guidance of the South African Chef Association.

On the following day, InfoChef will continue with a Gr.11 cook-off competition, as learners from local schools compete in the finals.

Professional chefs will also showcase their skills, while a variety of exhibitors from the culinary industry will be on hand, offering insights into new trends and products.

The expo is expected to draw a diverse crowd, from aspiring chefs, professionals, hoteliers, and all who are curious about the future of the food industry.

The South African Chef Association and its Free State branch continue the body’s commitment to fostering culinary talent in the region, making InfoChef a highlight in Bloemfontein’s cultural calendar.
