Children and adults alike could simply not wait for the scooters to drive in through the gates at the Beudene Daycare Centre on Thursday (26\/01).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Riders of the TT2Sea adventure bike ride who drove accross Lesotho to the coast in November came to visit and handed over a donation of R200 000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wayne Thompson and a few of the 15 riders visited Beudene, a special daycare and therapeutic centre for 110 children and adults with special needs, on their colourful scooters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some children just could not wait to catch a quick ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The TT2Sea group, accompanied by riders from England and the Czech Republic, completed the adventure to raise funds for Beudene for the eighth time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery year we drive to the coast to raise money for Beaudene. We are already planning the next trip, to Plettenberg Bay over 775 km in October,\u201d Thompson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group consists of business\u00admen who does this trip to raise funds and have a lot of fun along the way. They are supported by various businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The yearly adventure has its origin in an idea to support Beudene because of one of the regular members, Shaun Stevenson, whose brother Casey attends Beudene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe know we support a worthy cause, a place of care and love for special people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beulah van Aswegen, owner of Beudene, says the donation makes a huge difference to support them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEspecially because we are closed during Decembers and because of the knock we took in the long closure during Covid-19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
