A former mayor and councillor of Mangaung Pieter Vorster and the Alliance of South Africans (AoSA) with the cooperation from the University of the Free State (UFS) are organising a summit to talk about the future of South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Civil Society Summit is taking place from Thursday, 2 November to Saturday, 4 November at the Dutch Reformed Churgh in Fichardt Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AoSA is a non-profit civic movement of diverse South Africans, who believe that together, citizens can rebuild South Africa as a collective in terms of the constitution, raise hope and confidence in faith, to in the end achieve a joyful, safe, respected and prosperous country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vorster said the aim of the summit is to get active citizenship by making citizens aware of the governing vacuums in South Africa and how it can be filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the speakers at the first day of the summit are Prof Theo Neethling (Political Studies at the UFS), Prof Erwin Schwella (Public Administration at the UFS), Bishop Billy-Bly Ramahlele (Community Engagement, UFS), Johan Snyman (OurSA), Barden la Grange (Privilege Foundation, Africa Day), Dr Albert van Zyl (North West University Business School), Hans-Jurie Moolman (Ward Councillor and Genl Maj Arthur Adams (SAPS). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second day of the summit will continue to address the concerns of cizitens in regards to safety. Retired Maj Genl Roland de Vries will be the guest speaker on the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The summit will conclude on Saturday with programmes of action by civil society organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
