A Bloemfontein karateka is now considered the youth ladies world champion, after winning gold at an international championship in Japan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bridget Otto, a Gr. 11 learner at the Eunice High School, won a gold medal at the World Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (WSKF) World Championships hosted on 17 and 18 November. She competed in Tokyo, where she won gold in the youth ladies\u2019 kumite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also received a bronze medal in the team kumite and a silver medal in youth ladies\u2019 kata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another karateka of Eunice, Katlego Nhlapo, who is in Gr. 10, won bronze in the girls\u2019 junior kumite, as well as in the team kumite. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
