For BloemNews <\/span>and the other community newspapers in the Free State and Northern Cape it will be business as usual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media24 announced on Tuesday that it has accepted an offer from Novus Holdings to purchase its community newspaper portfolio, subject to regulatory approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes all the Central24 titles in the Free State and Northern Cape. Novus Holdings is the printer of BloemNews<\/span>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advertisers and readers will still receive the free printed newspaper every Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be no interruption in BloemNews<\/span>\u2019 publishing schedule, and it will continue to be business as usual for this portfolio under its new ownership. The transfer of the community newspaper portfolio will take place once regulatory approval is granted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media24 also announced this week that it is contemplating the possible closure of the print editions of five newspapers \u2013 Beeld<\/span>, Rapport<\/span>, City Press<\/span>, Daily Sun <\/span>and Soccer Laduma<\/span><\/span> \u2013 as well as the digital hub SNL24, and the digital editions (PDF format) of Volksblad <\/span>and Die Burger Oos-Kaap<\/span>. At the same time, the company would be transitioning Rapport,<\/span>City Press<\/span><\/span>and Daily Sun<\/span><\/span>to digital-only brands. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
