A thought-provoking exhibition that places the focus on gender-based violence in times of war is now on display in the War Museum in Bloemfontein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The creative artist Dina Cormick, who honour the stories of women with her art, opened the exhibition in the museum\u2019s art gallery on 29 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition coincides with the national 16 Days of Activism for no Violence Against Women and Children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition entitled Angst: Gender-Based Violence, Suffering and the Trauma of War<\/span> includes works from different artists depicting the experiences of women and children during the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the opening, Cormick spoke on her work, including her attemts to address and reclaim women\u2019s rightful position in society \u2013 religious and political. <\/p>\n\n\n\n She donated some of her work to the museum and also gave some of her work on loan to the museum for the Angst exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also included in the exhibition is two works by learners of Grey College: Luan Botha\u2019s piece Die Uitkyk<\/span> and that of Luhan Opperman (Gr. 8) Vrou en kinders wat in konsentrasiekamp ly<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The exhibition can be viewed in the War
