The opening fixtures of Power Week 1 took place in Durban in April. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The four-time champions, the Free State Crinums, are comfortably sitting at the helm of the Division 1 log after going undefeated in the opening week with a perfect six-from-six record. They overcame the reigning champions, the Gauteng Golden Fireballs, as well as the Gauteng Jaguars. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A fierce contest is on the cards in matches featuring these three, with the Crinums firmly in the crosshairs.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the Crinums’ unbeaten run is at stake, they are hoping to extend their winning streak \u2013 and their rich vein of form suggests they are well-placed to do so. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The locals’ solid defence and shooting accuracy during Power Week 1 propelled them to the top of the log in South Africa’s premier netball championship.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Crinums lead the standings with 12 points, while their two arch-rivals \u2013 the Jaguars and the Western Cape Southern Stings \u2013 are in second and third place, respectively, with eight points apiece. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The defending champions, the Fireballs, are fourth with six points and under immense pressure to show their class.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Crinums’ impressive performance demonstrates their championship pedigree in this prestigious competition. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Martha Mosoahle-Samm-led side’s target is to reach the final and boost their prospects of reclaiming the title \u2013 making amends for their loss to the Fireballs in a thrilling final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
