A big sigh of relief was let out regarding the widely publicised kidnapping of Kamogelo Baukudi (19), a learner of the Martie du Plessis Special School in Bloemfontein, who has been found alive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, his suspected kidnappers have also been arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These developments are the culmination of the police’s intensive investigations which began on 5 June, after Kamogelo\u2019s mysterious kidnapping in Bloemfontein. He was kidnapped shortly after being fetched by his driver from school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKamogelo was safely located and rescued in Wepener in the early hours of 27 June. During this intelligence-driven operation, five African males – aged between 20 and 29 years – were arrested. Three suspects were apprehended at a house in Kanana Location, Wepener, while two others were caught on the road between the Kwetla Location and Wepener town with the victim in their possession,\u201d said Brig. Lt. Gen Baile Motswenyane, provincial commissioner of the Free State police, stated that Kamogelo being found alive and the arrest of five suspects was a major breakthrough.
