The annual Bloem Show returns to the calendar after being called off in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to this, the event had only been cancelled during the Second World War, from 1939 to 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year\u2019s edition will be the 137th since its inception in 1883.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Plans are afoot to present the show in Bloemfontein from 27 April to 7 May. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Elmarie Prinsloo, chief executive officer, the organisers of large shows, as well as those of sporting and other events, are awaiting Covid-19 regulations to be adjusted to allow for crowds that utilise up to 50% of a venue\u2019s capacity. This will be in adaptation of the current maximum of 2 000 people for outdoor events and 1 000 for indoor gatherings. Any conditions on attendance will be announced jointly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bloem Show still holds unquestionable economic and financial viability to the benefit of the city, its residents and the economy of the Free State. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cVisitors, exhibitors, participants and agricultural exhibitors are looking forward to the show with incredible excitement,\u201d says Prinsloo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThus far, feedback has been positive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
