{"id":303046,"date":"2022-02-16T04:06:42","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T02:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/bloemnewsexpress\/bright-future-awaits-students-20220215\/"},"modified":"2022-02-16T04:06:42","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T02:06:42","slug":"bright-future-awaits-students-20220215","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/bloemnewsexpress\/bright-future-awaits-students-20220215\/","title":{"rendered":"Bright future awaits students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Applications for the Shoprite Group\u2019s bursary programme are open for the 2022-\u201923 academic year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registered university students with an aggregate of 65% or higher are encouraged to apply for the programme by visiting the group\u2019s bursary page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates with an interest in accounting, food sciences and information technology (IT) have until 30 April to apply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only will successful applicants be awarded the opportunity to further their studies, but they will also have the prospect of working for Africa\u2019s largest retailer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having pioneered various initiatives in the past year, the group\u2019s employees are at the forefront of one of the continent\u2019s most technologically advanced retail organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This environment of rapid innovation is particularly well-suited to IT students who thrive in an environment where complex problem-solving is the norm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can expect to receive individual attention and have a say in their exposure to many different fields. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Article clerks have the option of completing up to three electives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students studying food sciences have an opportunity to work with the Shoprite and Checkers supermarket teams on fresh foods, product development and fresh produce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The practical experience gained through these work-back agreements is invaluable in an increasingly competitive work environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> The group consistently achieves a high Assessment of Professional Competence pass rate.
