Bloemfontein Celtic women\u2019s team first-choice goal-stopper Kebotseng Moletsane, has gotten a much-need confidence booster with her call-up for the senior national team, Banyana Banyana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head coach Desiree Ellis has selected the lanky goal-mender as backup to the squad to represent South Africa in this year\u2019s Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Morocco from 2 to 23 July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moletsane is on standby in case the selected trio sustain injury. In the final team are Andile Dlamini (Mamelodi Sundowns), Kaylin Swart (JVW FC) and Regirl Ngobeni (University of the Western Cape). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moletsane has been selected on her merited form between the sticks for her team in the Hollywoodbets Super League. Thus far she has conceded seven goals in the league, equal to her counterpart Dlamini, but less than Swart, who has conceded ten goals. Ngobeni has conceded six goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These goalkeepers have featured in ten league matches played in the first leg of the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moletsane has made an impact since her debut for Celtic last year. She has impressed coach Thato Rahaba since joining from Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her impressive performance has caught the eye of the national team head coach Ellis, who will be attempting to conquer the prestigious women\u2019s trophy having come close in the 2018 edition when they lost in the final to arch-rivals Nigeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Africa lost by 3\u20134 in a penalty shoot-out lottery and finished as runner-up for the fourth time. They finished as runners-up in 2000, 2008 and 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
