She stepped up to the challenge when she netted her first goal for Banyana Banyana in the 1 \u2013 0 victory achieved by South Africa\u2019s senior national women\u2019s team over Botswana on Sunday (10\/07). The teams met in the Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations, underway in Morocco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Majiya\u2019s all-important goal pitted her team against Tunisia in the quarter-final that is scheduled to be played on Thursday (14\/07) at 22:00. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Richmond United women\u2019s goal poacher scored on her second appearance, having debuted in a fixture South Africa won by 3 \u2013 1 against Burundi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Majiya (18), from Philippolis, has already showed she has an appetite for scoring. While she came close to grabbing one goal in the match against Burundi, her persistence saw her scoring a memorable goal against Botswana, who eliminated South Africa in the 2020 Olympic Games qualifier fixture in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She came on in the second stanza in both fixtures, replacing vastly experienced teammates, and lived up to her reputation. She substituted Jermaine Seoposenwe (28) in the match against Burundi and international forward Thembi Kgatlana (26) against Botswana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Majiya\u2019s scoring form is cementing the reputation she earned in the domestic Hollywoodbets Super League, South Africa\u2019s premier women\u2019s football league. She was the second top goal scorer, with 20 goals in her maiden season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
