The drive encourages the public to donate organs to save lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign supports the World Organ Donation Day observed on 13 August every year with the objective to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately 4 300 people are waiting for a life-saving organ or cornea transplant in South Africa, but only 0,2% of our population are registered organ donors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August is National Organ and tissue awareness month in South Africa.
