Typically, they require livers, kidneys, lungs or hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Organ Donor Foundation of South Africa, the average waiting period is three to five years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The foundation stated that scare supply is not a South African phenomenon as it applies to nations worldwide who are unable to meet the demand for organ donors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The public is urged to register as donors. Anyone under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian permission. A medical evaluation will determine which organs can be donated.
