Jumbo Clothing continues to support sporting achievement at school level with the Jumbo Sports Excellence Scholarship 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 2017, Jumbo has been awarding an annual sports scholarship to outstanding schools players for exceptional performance in a team sport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teamwork is integral to the Jumbo ethos, which is why the scholarship is awarded only to those who embody the Jumbo values of pride, passion, positivity and caring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the shining examples of someone who embodies these values is the recipient of the Jumbo Sports Excellence Scholarship 2022, Sibabalwe Mahashe, a rugby player of the Hudson Park High School in East London. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As South African schools captain for 2022 and captain of the Border U18 Craven Week team 2022, Sibabalwe has proven himself \u2013 being elected captain of the South African U18 rugby team, winning player of the series in the international test against France and England, and leading his team to a remarkable 49 \u2013 17 victory over France. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sibabalwe is contracted to Lions Rugby for 2023, and Jumbo wishes him all the best for what is bound to be a spectacular career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recipients of the Jumbo Sports Excellence Scholarship each receive a cash scholarship of R10 000, paid to their school to support their sporting or academic needs; along with a monthly shopping voucher to the value of R500, redeemable at any Jumbo store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
