Eight schools in Qwa\u00adqwa have been rewarded for participating in the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition, each receiving a building material voucher to the value of R15 000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vouchers were presented at the Phuthaditjhaba Cashbuild store on 3 November, coinciding with the grand opening of a new store. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The learners\u2019 work will remain on display in the store for the next six years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Judges acknowledged three entrants from each school with Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Manager\u2019s Choice award, and the title of overall winner, was presented to a learner of the Mangaung Intermediate School. This learner received a backpack with stationery and a trophy for creativity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The management of the Lepanya Primary School has welcomed the building material voucher received for participation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The plan is to paint the roof of the entire school building and erect a fence around the Gr. R playground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the Mangaung Intermediate School, the voucher is expected to enable the renovation of the Mathematics and computer laboratories, as well as to bolster security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Art-at-Heart competition is a national social investment initiative whereby the proceeds are donated to schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this competition, Cashbuild has helped more than 3 500 South African schools with the procurement of building materials worth more than R45 million for 21 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The eight schools that benefitted from this year\u2019s initiative are: the Mangaung Intermediate School, Namahadi Primary School, Lepanya Primary School, Phiri Intermediate School, Sentinel Primary School, Mabewana Primary School, Letsibolo Primary School, and the Witsieshoek Primary School. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
