The Charmza Literacy Club is calling on aspiring and budding writers to submit applications to be accepted into its Incubation Programme for 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a 12-month initiative aimed at un\u00adearthing and nurturing writing talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Application is free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The application process closes on 30 January. This will be followed by the selection of 20 candidates with potential for placement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incubation programme is the brainchild of Charmaine Kolwane Mrwebi, founder, and author of several books. She says the focus will be on sharpening writers\u2019 skills, the publishing, the sourcing of grants for publishing, sales and mentorship, as well as promotion of the enlisted group of writers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am prompted by authors who are demoralised to write and publish,\u201d says Kolwane Mrwebi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSome write half manuscripts and give up along the way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOften those who spend money to publish go in with a lack of knowledge.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mrwebi says the prevailing lack of interest in reading and literacy was also a motivating factor to initiate the incubation project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo, through this programme we hope to get participants as literacy ambassadors,\u201d Kolwane Mrwebi added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
