The Nedbank Cup quarter-final matches featuring the eight remaining clubs will be played on 15 and 16 April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seven of these clubs campaign in the elite Premier Soccer League (PSL), while one is from the second-tier rank of the ABC Motsepe League in Gauteng. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minnows Dondol Stars FC will take on Orlando Pirates FC, while Stellenbosch FC will battle it out against the defending champion, Mamelodi Sundowns FC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other matches will see Royal AM taking on Kaizer Chiefs FC, with Chippa United FC clashing against Sekhukhune United FC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The four winners in the group will progress to the semifinal of the competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The eight clubs have come through the last-32 stage of the tournament, which features clubs in the grassroots level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Giant slayers Stars will be hoping to continue an onslaught in the tournament. The club eliminated PSL giants that include former three-time winner, SuperSport United FC and AmaZulu FC. Pirates strives to win the trophy a third time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sundowns hopes to extend its wins to five. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chiefs, who last won the championship in 2012, fights to end an trophyless drought. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The competition is the only one remaining for the Amakhosi to turn around their misfortune. The club is under immense pressure. Chiefs lost to TS Galaxy in the final in 2018, while the closest to winning the title in recent years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year the tournament is sponsored to the tune of R20,3 million in prize money \u2013 an increase of R15 million from the previous year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The increase in prize money highlights the tournament\u2019s growing prestige and importance within the South African football landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year\u2019s winner will take home a whopping R7 million in prize money, and the runner-up will receive R2,5 million. The losers in the semifinals will receive R1 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stars are guaranteed R400 000 for reaching the quarter-finals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
