Two of three security officers of the Fidelity Security Group that were arrested regarding a cash-in-transit armed robbery of the company\u2019s vehicle that occurred in Bloemfontein during May, have been granted bail. The pair are Molefe Sidwell Molefe (61) and Deon de Lange (48), while Mzwandile Choko (60) is remanded in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Hawks\u2019 Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, based in Bloemfontein, pounced on the trio three days after the armoured vehicle robbery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vehicle was reportedly en route from its company depot to Bloemfontein\u2019s central business district (CBD) to deliver cash when it was ambushed by a group of armed men. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Capt. Christopher Singo, provincial spokesperson of the Hawks, a group of heavily armed suspects accosted the vehicle in McKenzie Street, East End, Bloemfontein. The robbers instructed the security officials to exit the vehicle, and then used explosives to blow the vehicle\u2019s vault and drop safe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Singo said the suspects reportedly took an undisclosed amount of money and the security officials\u2019 firearms, and thereafter fled the scene. He said the investigation was ongoing, with the hope of arresting more culprits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
