Bloemfontein police are appealing to the public for their assistance in tracing a Lesotho national known as Lefa Mabasa, believing he may provide information regarding the disappearance of a Bloemfontein-based man, Lethusang Azael Fothoane. According to the police, Mabasa is from Mazinod, Maseru, in Lesotho while Fothoane resides in the Chris Hani suburb, Bloemfontein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt. Col Thabo Covane, spokesperson for the police in Mangaung, said the police\u2019s search for the missing Fothoane has culminated with the discovery of his belongings in Lesotho. He said the search continues for Fothoane and his vehicle, a Toyota Fortuner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAccording to the police\u2019s current records, Lethusang\u2019s army camouflage uniform, identity document (ID), wallet, and his vehicle\u2019s number plate were found in Lesotho. The police are looking for Mabasa who might provide important information that will help locate Fothoane,\u201d says Covane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says the ongoing investigation revealed that Fothoane was seen in Wepener, leaving the old station house in Mabasa\u2019s company, with another man known as Matshidi, also known as Qoqotho, as well as Lerato, a slender-built woman who is dark in complexion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Covane says Fothoane\u2019s family reported him missing on 31 October at the Kopanong Police Station in Bloemfontein. According to information provided by his family, Fothoane left his home and headed for work in Bloemfontein, driving his white Toyota Fortuner. He never returned home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Any person with helpful information about the whereabouts of Mabasa, Matshidi aka Qoqotho, and Lerato is requested to call investigating officers Col. Msokoli Bolsiek on 082-466-8530, Capt. Jake Mojaki on 082-553-7639 or WO Kgotso Thekiso on 072-135-8334. Alternatively, information can be submitted on the MySAPS App or by calling the police\u2019s Crime Stop number 08600-10111.
