A hike in the prices of illuminating paraffin, petrol, diesel and gas is very likely to be effective at midnight on 5 March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will be the second recorded hike in fuel prices this year, following the first, in February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the beginning of February, the price of unleaded petrol (both grades 93 and 95) was increased by 75c a litre; which brought the price of 95 unleaded petrol to R23,24 a litre, while the coastal price reached R22,52.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The expected hike in March will see the price of a litre of petrol and diesel breach the R24 and R25 mark, with paraffin and gas going for R20 and R39, respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this situation looming, the Automobile Association (AA) has expressed grave concern regarding the price hikes, which will burden South African consumers who are already trapped in poverty and debt, battling to cope with high inflation, as well as the high cost of living.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
