A teenager who is believed to have jumped from the rooftop of the Bloemfontein\u2019s Loch Logan Waterfront Mall, is still at the Pelonomi Tertiary Hospital in Bloemfontein. The 17-year-old, identified as a Gr. 11 learner of Grey College, is undergoing treatment after sustaining severe injuries in both his legs, his pelvis and neck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mondli Mvambi, spokesperson for the Free State\u2019s Department of Health, said the teenager is in the intensive care unit (ICU). \u201cThe patient is responding well to treatment but he is critical. The patient was admitted to the trauma unit on Sunday and was referred to theatre,\u201d said Mvambi. He said paramedics from government emergency medical services (EMS) attended to the patient and thereafter transported him to the hospital for further treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The boy sustained severe injuries in the incident which reportedly happened on Sunday, 19 May, at about 14:56, on the side of the premises closest to First Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
