This is a core principle that the Bloemfontein-based Koos Bierman, a blind physio\u00adtherapist, practices when working with injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bierman, who has been working in the Physiotherapy Department at the Universitas Academic Hospital for 20 years, opened a private practice at the Netcare Universitas Hospital recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has a hands-on approach to asses and treat patients experiencing chronic headaches, neck and back pain, and other injuries <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bierman, who employs a variety of techniques including manual therapy, dry needles and exercise-based rehabilita\u00adtion, takes an active approach towards each patients\u2019 healing, explaining the workings of the injured limb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He believes that the way each person moves, has a impact on the body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRepetitive, wrong movements can have far-reaching consequences,\u201d he warns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bierman can do an analysis of the way a patient walks or runs to identify the source of injury and take preventative steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
