Elke kind dra dieselfde droom in sy hart: Om eendag die beste te wees wat hy of sy kan wees \u2013 om te leer, te groei en iets betekenisvol van sy lewe te maak.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die werklikheid is dat nie alle kinders vanaf dieselfde beginpunt wegtrek nie. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chantell van Wijk, ‘n maatskaplike werker by Solidariteit Helpende Hand, s\u00ea kinders wat reeds ‘n paar tre\u00eb agter begin, het nie mindestruikelblok iets wat vir ander vanselfsprekend is: vervoer skool toe, of die vermo\u00eb om koshuis-<\/p>\n\n\n\n

geld te betaal. Wanneer daardie basiese dinge ontbreek, raak die pad na hul droom skielik baie langer en moeiliker.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is presies waar Solidariteit Helpende Hand se Bemagtig ‘n kind-projek ‘n verskil wil meebring. Die projek ondersteun kinders wat in moeilike omstandighede grootword sodat hulle steeds hul volle potensiaal kan bereik en hul skoolloopbaan kan voltooi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van Wijk s\u00ea die ondersteuning kan verskillende vorme aanneem: van vervoer na en van die skool, tot die betaling van koshuisgeld; van die moontlik maak van ekstraklas-bywoning tot terapeutiese bystand wanneer ‘n kind deur trauma gaan. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Die doel is om vir ‘n kind ‘n regverdige kans te gee om te leer en om sy of haar volle potensiaal te bereik.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In die Vrystaat ondersteun Solidariteit Helpende Hand 24 leerders elke maand met bus- of koshuisgeld \u2013 ongeveer R800 000 per jaar. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Elke maand is daar ander ouers of versorgers wat net een ding vra: ‘Help asseblief dat my kind skool kan klaarmaak.'”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aansoeke is selfs al van leerders self ontvang. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dit is nie maklike oproepe om te kry nie. Want soms moet ons s\u00ea: Ons wil help, maar ons geld is beperk.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
