PHOTO: Supplied<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The vehicle&#8217;s driver, a 39-year-old foreign national, told police he had been instructed to transport the parcel from Johannesburg to Maseru in Lesotho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When authorities unwrapped the package, they made a disturbing discovery: four horns suspected to be from rhinoceros, fifty suspected unpolished diamonds stored in a ziplock bag, and a solid gold item concealed within a medicine container.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver was immediately arrested and a case docket opened at Ficksburg Police Station. He faces charges of possession of suspected rhino horns, unpolished diamonds, and gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspect is expected to appear before the Ficksburg Magistrate Court in due course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seizure represents a significant win in the ongoing battle against wildlife crime and illegal trafficking networks operating through the Free State&#8217;s border
