Bloemfontein residents are invited to join South Africa\u2019s biggest cupcake fundraiser, National Cupcake Day for Kids with Cancer, taking place on Saturday, 27 September, at malls in Bloemfontein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come and buy a cupcake at Northridge Mall, Mimosa Mall, Loch Logan Waterfront, and other participating malls across South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year marks the 13th year that National Cupcake Day is celebrated nationally. It is also the 13th year that Bloemfontein will be hosting the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a donation of just R10 or R20, the community can enjoy a delicious cupcake. This small gesture helps make a real difference in the life of children fighting cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, the National Cupcake Day campaign raised over R2 million nationwide. To achieve this, almost 2 000 bakers took part. A total of 114 291 cupcakes were pledged online. Additionally, 74 malls made space available for sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur bakers are known as Cupcake Angels,\u201d says Sandy Cipriano, founder of Cupcakes of Hope. \u201cThey are all volunteers, and the backbone of our organisation, hosting events, encouraging donations, and registering for noncommunicable disease (NCD)-related programmes. Each one of them pours in their energy, time, and even their own money to bake the most incredible cupcake creations. These are then shared with the public in exchange for a small donation on National Cupcake Day. They truly deserve their title!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Bloemfontein\u2019s Cupcake Angels team will be out in full force again. They are preparing thousands of cupcakes for the big day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This year is extra special as Bloemfontein celebrates 13 years of Cupcake Day alongside the national campaign. Over the years we have seen how something as small as a single cupcake can bring joy to a child and hope to a family. For us, it is not just about baking \u2013 it is about standing together as a community. Every cupcake shared – every rand donated – helps sprinkle hope where it is needed most. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of Bloemfontein and invite everyone to join us on 27 September to make a difference, one cupcake at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cupcakes of Hope is also proud to celebrate its 13-year partnership with Mugg & Bean, who have stood by the cause since the very first Cupcake Day. This year, they have created a brand-new cupcake range with exciting flavours such as Passion Fruit, Peanut Butter Caramel, and the Muggles Cupcake. For each cupcake sold, R2 will be donated to Cupcakes of Hope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024 alone, Cupcakes of Hope assisted more than 2 500 families with financial support. They delivered over 3 000 care bags to children in oncology wards. They also celebrated 111 birthdays with young cancer warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
