FOTO: verskaf<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Christo Groenewald, distriksko\u00f6rdineerder vir AfriForum in Bloemfonatein s\u00ea tot op hede het AfriForum geen terugvoer van die metro ontvang nie, ondanks die verstryking van die sperdatum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Die terreine toon ernstige tekorte aan basiese infrastruktuur, veiligheidsmaatre\u00ebls en voldoen nie aan die minimumvereistes soos uiteengesit in nasionale wetgewing en munisipale verordeninge nie,&#8221; s\u00ea Groenewald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie Mangaung-metro moet besef dat hierdie stortingsterreine wetlik verplig is om aan sekere standaarde te voldoen. Ons kan nie bloot toekyk hoe hierdie geriewe verder verval nie. \u2019n Weegbrug alleen gaan nie hul probleme oplos nie \u2013 daar is verskeie strukturele en bestuursprobleme op die terreine wat reeds lank teen wetgewing indruis,\u201d s\u00ea Groenewald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>BloemNuus<\/em> het op 9 Julie berig dat die metro beoog om van 1 Augustus tariewe vir die storting van 500kg en meer gaan vra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Groenewald het s\u00ea as die metro hierdie tariewe instel, sal die standaard van die strotingsterreine aansienlik moet verbeter en dit sal aan wetgewing moet voldoen. \u201cDaar is wel al begin met \u2018n nuwe heining om die suidelike stortingsterrein, maar die metro sal die honderde sakgrawers wat hier bly, moet verwyder. Die veiligheid en diens hier sal baie moet verbeter as mense tariewe moet betaal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Groenewald s\u00ea AfriForum het in sy finale skrywe aangedui dat die organisasie beoog om die saak na provinsiale en nasionale owerhede te eskaleer indien die metro versuim om betyds en betekenisvol te reageer. Regstappe word ook oorweeg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Ons sal voortgaan om druk toe te pas om te verseker dat gemeenskappe nie aan onhigi\u00ebniese, gevaarlike en onwettige toestande blootgestel word nie.
