The Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, inducted Prof. Tryna van Niekerk as a full professor, hosting an inaugural professorial lecture on 2 June at the Bloemfontein campus. From the left are Nemutshili Mili (CUT director of financial operations), Prof. David Ngidi (deputy vice-chancellor of teaching and learning), newly promoted professor Van Niekerk, Prof. Pamela Dube (vice-chancellor and principal), Prof. Alfred Ngowi (deputy vice-chancellor of research innovation and engagement) and Prof. Albert Strydom (dean of Management Sciences). Van Niekerk is an expert in government management and head of the government management department in the Faculty of Management Sciences, with many years of experience and numerous publications to her name. She holds a PhD in Public Management she attained from the CUT, a master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) after her studies in America, a certificate in military management from the University of South Africa (Unisa), an advanced diploma in public management and governance courtesy of Stellenbosch University (SU), and an advanced diploma in higher education (ADHE) with distinction from the University of the Free State (UFS).
