BLOEMFONTEIN – The Art Bank of South Africa (ArtbankSA) invites South African visual artists to send in their contemporary artworks. Their work will be considered for acquisition. Artists must send these before or on the closing date, which is Monday, 15 September. This forms part of the Annual Acquisitions Call to Artists initiative. The project is open to South African visual artists from all nine provinces.

This prestigious programme is run under the auspices of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture’s Mzansi Golden Economy strategy. It offers artists an exceptional platform to have their work acquired for ArtbankSA’s growing national collection. This initiative is open to emerging artists representing urban, peri-urban, and rural communities throughout the country. Artists can send up to five contemporary artworks for consideration.

Artists can send their applications electronically, with comprehensive submission forms available at artbanksa.org. The programme welcomes two-dimensional and three-dimensional works that show technical excellence and durability for long-term exhibition and transport. Applications close at 17:00 on Monday. Only successful applicants will be contacted after the Acquisitions Committee’s review process.

Those interested must fill submission forms. Detailed guidelines are available at artbanksa.org. All submissions and supporting documents must be emailed to submissions@artbanksa.org.

For enquiries, send an email to info@artbanksa.org.
