The 16th edition of the Caleb Motshabi Table Tennis Club Tournament saw five players win a gold medal each, rewarding their individual efforts in the competition.
The event was held on 9 March in Batho, Bloemfontein.
The boys who competed in the tournament won three gold medals, while their girl counterparts scooped two.
They all took part in the U11, U13 and U18 categories.
The boys also won more silver and bronze medals than the girls.
Medal winners
- Gold: Katlego Moroe of the Karabelo Primary School (U11 girls), Refilwe Phoofolo of Mighty Spinners (U13 girls), Amogelang Marumo of the Mangaung Primary School (U11 boys), Koketso Sethunya of the Sehunelo Secondary School (U13 boys) and Ricardo Carrasco of Hoërskool Sentraal (U18 boys).
- Silver: Olerato Mothabeng of the Karabelo Primary School (U11 boys), Botshelo Motshabi of Mighty Spinners (U13 girls), Bohkokwa Jones of the Unity Primary School (U11 girls), Darrick Zhang of Grey College (U13 boys) and Kgalalelo Phekonyane of Bloemfontein High School (U18 boys).
- Bronze: Rehauhetse Ntombela (U11 girls) and Omphile Tsoai (U11 boys) of the Karabelo Primary School, Tshiamo Plaatjie of the Unity Primary School (U.13 girls), David Oadee of Grey College Secondary (U18 boys) and Karabo Kuputsa of the Karabelo Primary School (U13 boys).
The event marked the 24th year since the club’s formation.
