The Chief Leeuw Foundation’s celebration of Africa Month during May this year culminated in the launch of the first Little Mr Africa Day contest for boys aged eight to ten years, hosted in the Bloem Plaza on 25 May, where participants represented ten African countries. From the left are Moferefere Motsamai (Mr Personality, Mauritius), Letlotlo Ogabo (first prince), Mokone Leeuw (Chief Leeuw Foundation), Owam Gxabu (king, South Africa), Melokuhle Gcanga (second prince, Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Tlotla Maizale (Mr Confidence, Kenya). The event tied in with Africa Day, celebrated on 25 May – the annual commemoration of the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), the precursor to the African Union (AU).Photo: Supplied
