Handing over footwear to keep scholastic dreams kicking

A group of 50 learners of the Olympia Primary School in Heidedal have had their plight of going to school barefoot or wearing torn shoes alleviated thanks to a donation by the Bloemfontein branch of the Liberty Group. Each learner received a brand new pair of shoes, enabling them to continue pursuing an education. At the presentation, held on 6 June, are from the left: Clifford Dunn, Maggie Lebakeng (headmaster and deputy, respectively), Victor Dyantji (branch manager of the Liberty Group), Evelyn Brown (teacher), Anneline van der Westhuizen (teacher), Sello Khaeane (circuit manager in the Motheo district of the Free State Department of Education), Kelebogile Nkane (teacher), Boitumelo Lesito (financial advisor of the Liberty Group) and Michael Tshabalala (acting director in the Motheo district of the Free State Department of Education).Photo: Supplied
