Members of the Public Order Police (POP) unit in Bloemfontein continued to execute different operational concepts as part of Operation Shanela in the Mangaung Metro.
On Monday, 8 January, the team focused on the prevention of drug trafficking in the Bloemfontein Central Business District (CBD).
Police stopped and search an African male. He did not have his passport in his possession and the team took him to his residential place to check his documents.
Upon their arrival, the police searched his home at a block of flats and found 105 Mandrax tablets, 0.046 kg Crystal Meth, 0.008 kg Rock, and 0.026 kg KHAT.
The 30-year-old foreign national was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs.
A case was opened at the Parkweg Police Station. The suspect will soon appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court.
