A career expo for Gr. 12 learners will be held at the Bainsvlei Combined School in Bloemfontein today (26/07). This is a partnership initiative by the public-private sector, as well as educational institutions in the city.

It aims at providing information on careers and helping learners choose their path. Educational institutions will provide information about study programmes in terms of career choices and requirements, while private entities will provide information about various available professions.

Partners in this initiative are Centlec; the Motheo Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College; the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State; Metropolitan; Old Mutual; Liberty; Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA); and Sanlam.

The expo will showcase a range of careers that include engineering artisanry, electrical engineering, finances and accounting, business management, and careers in technology.

Information on available student bursaries will be shared, and more light will be shed on the many vocational training programmes available to learners.

Although the expo caters for matriculants, Gr. 10 and Gr. 11 learners may also attend.
