The Mrs South Africa (Mrs SA) pageant is calling on all married women to enter the competition’s 2024 edition. The contest is intended for candidates aged between 25 and 55 years.

Entries will close on 29 January. Candidates must be legally married with a valid marriage certificate from the South African Department of Home Affairs, and be in possession of a valid South African identity document (ID).

“Our ladies are consistently challenged to step out of their comfort zones, face their fears, and overcome their insecurities while discovering their strengths and purpose in life. Our goal is to shape women into the leaders and change makers they are supposed to be, so that they can go on and realise their dreams while serving our communities and driving meaningful change,” said Joani Johnson, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Mrs SA pageant.

Tshego Gaelae (33) was crowned as Mrs SA for 2023. She said that the journey has been life-changing in many ways, helping her to discover her voice, and teaching her to be fearless in the face of uncertainty. “I entered because I saw how well the platform lends itself to the sustainable empowerment of ladies and I wanted to be part of the change,” said Gaelae.

Those interested in entering can apply via mrssouthafrica.co.za. For the full list of requirements, they can visit mrssouthafrica.co.za/entry-requirements-2024/.

Five women from the Free State were semifinalists. They are Alicia Stols and Ntshebo Pokela, both from Bloemfontein; Madikgoele Lobaka from Parys; Lizzy Molelekoa from Welkom; as well as Carien Zwart from Kroonstad.
