Aspiring entrepreneurs in South Africa with the ambition to realise their ideas are called upon to enter this year’s Nedbank Pitch and Polish competition.
They must submit their entries for this year’s competition before or on the closing date of Friday, 5 April, online at pitchandpolish.com.
The criteria to enter is that entrepreneurs must be South African, with either an already-trading, registered business or being sole proprietors.
The most promising candidates will be invited to submit a 90-second video pitch along with supporting documents before applicants are narrowed down to 16 contestants. These hopefuls will then proceed to the first round of the competition.
The winner will bag the prize worth R1 million, with the two runners-up set to take home R100 000 and R50 000.
The first prize worth R1 million consists of a R650 000 cash injection to grow the winner’s business and a bursary worth R350 000 to follow and complete a two-year business-development programme with one of the leading business incubators in Africa, Raizcorp.
The Nedbank Pitch and Polish competition has, over the years, made it possible for scores of youths to realise their dreams, offering the basics such as funding, one-on-one mentoring, and entrepreneurial skills. It also empowers South African entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge they need to scale their businesses and improve their chances of securing investor funding.
This is the 14th instalment of the competition.
