The South African Petroleum Retailers Association (Sapra) has welcomed news of an expected reduction in the fuel price in September, which is sure to add to the relief experienced after the price drop that took place on 7 August.

The steady decrease is attributed to the rand’s appreciation against the US dollar, with the exchange rate for the period 28 June to 1 August at 18.2360, compared to 18.4439 during the previous period.
