The Angel Foundation and Mr Central South Africa, in partnership with the Mangaung Metro, recognised the longest serving and former chairperson of Heidedal’s Community Policing Forum (CPF), Andries “Oom Smittie” Smith, on Mandela Day, 18 July, at an event held at the Reënboog Old Age Home. Rejoicing in his contribution are, from the left, Capt. Martin buffet, Nicole Prins (Angel Foundation), Lt Col. Melanie Fouche (station commander of the Heidedal Police Station), Smith, Johnny Jansen (current chairperson of the Heidedal CPF), Ernest Mofokeng (reigning Mr Central South Africa, 2023-’24),and Sgt Boitumelo Dasheka (Heidedal Police Station).
