Botshabelo’s Re Utlwile Response has organised an event for elders at the Uniting Reformed Church on Friday, 9 August. The theme is “Let us protect the Elderly”.
It is supported by government departments, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), the SAPS, the Department of Social Development and emergency medical services, as well as the Botshabelo District Hospital.
Neo Lebakeng of Re Utlwile Response said the event would honour elders’ contribution to the development of society, while making them feel part of society. The aim is to tackle issues facing elders, mitigate their vulnerability and re-instil the culture of caring for elders.
