The Botshabelo police in the Free State are appealing for the public’s assistance in tracing the killer (s), of a young woman identified as Tsholofelo Sonia Rowles (23). The victim’s body with stab wounds, was discovered near the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo, on Saturday, 22 June.

Sgt Sinah Mpakane, spokesperson for the provincial police, said yesterday, Monday, 25 June, the family was positively identified the victim. She said a passerby who stumbled on the body at an open veld alerted the police on Saturday. “Rowles is from Turflaagte in
Bloemfontein. Her mom said she last saw her on Saturday, 22 June, when she
said she was visiting her friend but never came back.” 

She was identified with clues, light in complexion, with one gold front tooth. She has pushed-back hair in a ponytail, and was wearing black tights, a purple floral dress with blue Adidas tekkies, and a blue front-zip Adidas top. 

She said the Boithuso police attended to the scene at about 21:00 after being alerted.

“On arrival, the members found the body of a woman in a pool of blood. She sustained three stab wounds to the neck, which seemed to have been inflicted with a sharp object, like a knife,” said Mpakane.
