The annual Bloem Show, celebrating its 140th anniversary, will end with a bang tomorrow, Saturday (06/05). Performing artists, all household names, will bring the curtain down on the quadridecacentennial (140 years) celebrations which started on 27 April.
The line-up of artists billed to perform at the main concert has one new addition: the Lesotho-born rapper, Malome Vector. He replaces his compatriot Ntate Stunna, real name Thaabe Letsie, the hitmaker of “Ke Thata”.
Elmarie Prinsloo, chief executive officer (CEO) of Bloem Show, confirmed this late change to the line-up of performing acts.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ntate Stunna will not be able to perform at the main concert of the Bloem Show’s 140th celebration. We are pleased to announce that Malome Vector will be taking his place,” says Prinsloo.
She says the Party Time will continue as planned, uninterrupted.
Notable names billed to perform include Thebe (Lenyora), Shaxe Khumalo, LeGoody, the Ndlovu Youth Choir, Prop, Jo Black, and Bok van Blerk.
The extravaganza will continue tomorrow, Saturday, with the Oval track (15:00 to 19:00) and Red Bull “Spinning” with Siya from 20:00 until 22:00 at the Concept Main Arena.
This event, considered the largest consumer exhibition in South Africa’s central region, is celebrating 140 years of prominence and the legacy brand’s success. It combines agricultural, entertainment, and trade activities all at one place.
Admission costs R100, but only R50 for students, senior citizens older than 60 years, and children between 6 to 18 years.
The entry fee allows patrons free access to the live performances.
Gates will open at 08:00 and close at 20:00 tomorrow. Activities at the showgrounds will close at 23:00. Patrons are advised to use gates 2, 3, and 4 for entry. Gate 5 will only be open for entrance until 18:00.
