In a deeply disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the Bohlokong community in Bethlehem, the local police are urgently seeking information about the brutal murder of an unidentified woman whose burnt body was discovered early Monday morning.
At approximately 06:30 on Monday, 4 August, a community member made the horrifying discovery of a woman’s body in Phase 7, Bohlokong. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, had been subjected to an unimaginable act of violence – sustaining multiple stab wounds before being burned beyond recognition.
WO Mmako Mophiring, spokesperson for the Bethlehem police, expressed profound concern about the incident, particularly its occurrence during Women’s Month – a time traditionally dedicated to celebrating and honoring women’s contributions to society.
“Acts of such extreme violence are completely unacceptable and represent a grave violation of human dignity,” says Mophiring.
A postmortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death and whether she was sexually violated prior to the murder.
The investigation continues and the police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. Individuals can contact Capt. Karabelo Motaung on 082 453 0794 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or send anonymous tips via the MySAPS App.
