The Choral Celebration Network Foundation (CCNF) in Bloemfontein will present two spectacular choral festivals. Both events will be held at the Geloofsentrum Universitas (Centre of Faith) and is scheduled to start at 18:30.

The festival will take place on 5 and 6 May.

Yolande Strauss of the CCNF said the two-day event forms part of festivals the organisation has planned to host across the nine provinces. She said the organisation has 23 festivals planned for this year.

Strauss said the choral music festivals provide a platform for local choirs, countrywide, to showcase their talent and collaborate with other choral enthusiasts.

“The organisation aims to foster inclusive events that embrace the nation’s diversity through the powerful tool of choral music,” said Strauss.

“The CCNF is a non-governmental organisation that is dedicated to promoting harmony within the South African choral industry through non-competitive and neutral performance opportunities.

“We would like to invite all music enthusiasts and supporters of the arts in Bloemfontein and surrounding areas to join us in celebrating the beauty of choral music.

“These choral festivals promise to celebrate talent, culture, and community.”

The event will feature primary and secondary schools, as well as higher education institutions.

The festival’s opening day will see the University of the Free State (UFS) choir of the main campus, Hoërskool Fichardtpark Choir, City of Roses Choir (CoRos), Eunice Vitae Cantamus Choir, Hoër Meisieskool Oranje Choir, Sentraal High School Choir, Onze Rust Choir, and the Bloemfontein Children’s Choir take to the stage.

On the second day the Eunice Primary School Choir, Take Note, Dr Visser Choir, UFS south campus choir, Willem Postma Primary School Choir, Universitas Primary School (Tjokkies), Grey College Choir, Klinkklaar Female Group, and the Laer Meisieskool Oranje senior choir will perform.
