The dreams of a group of 60 children enrolled for Gr. 1 at the Tsholohelo Primary School in Rocklands, Bloemfontein, to acquire an education have been afforded a strong start.
A generous donation of learning items, school shoes, and hygiene products were presented to the school on 17 November, much to the delight of the recipients and their parents.
The parents perceived the new shoes as the necessary vehicle that would enable their children to pursue lifelong learning.
The goodwill gesture is courtesy of public-private entities the iTau Milling group, Grootvlei Correctional Services, Mijona Cosmetics, as well as the Miss South Africa World pageant franchise.
The donation was made with the start of the school term in January next year in mind.
The learners are all set to embark on their personal journey in the foundation phase, which caters for children aged six to nine years.
Goodison Mofele, director of iTau, said the welcome donation was necessary for ensuring the children were well-prepared for when the school reopened.
