Three amateur teams campaigning in a league competition under the auspices of Safa Mangaung Metro were crowned champions of the Champs of Champs knockout competition.

The tournament featured teams in three divisions: U13, U15 and U17.

The three winning teams from Botshabelo, who were each an overall winner of a division, scooped the titles after the final match staged at the Mangaung Outdoor Sport Complex in Bloemfontein on 27 January.

The Vancouver Pathers scooped the title in the U13 divsion, whilst Napoli was crowned the champion of the U15 division and Azzurri scooped the U17 title.

Each team walked home with a floating trophy plus a gold medal.

Azzurri overcame the Junior Manchester football club hailing from Thaba Nchu 2 – 1, while the Napoli players beat the Clever Boys from Bloemfontein with 4 – 1 after a penalty shootout.

The Pathers hammered the Liverpool boys with a whopping 3 – 1 victory to clinch the cup.

The runners-up and teams that finished in the third position in each division also received a silver medal and bronze medal to reward their efforts in the league competition.

Clubs played on a knockout-basis to secure a spot in the final of the tournament, which is played annually.
